West Bank: Updates to Trademark Application Procedures
Important changes have been introduced to the trademark application process that could impact your filings. Please review the following updates:
Time Extensions for Trademark Applications:
- Applicants are now required to submit a formal request for time extensions, with a fee of JD 10 (approximately USD 14) per request, per month.
- Each approved extension will be granted for one month.
- Additional extension requests can be made before the extended deadline, with the same fee applying per request. Approval is at the discretion of the Registrar.
- Previously, applicants could submit required documents (Power of Attorney) up to 90 days after filing for new applications and within 30 days for renewal applications.
Fees for Reviewing Responses to Office Actions:
A fee of JD 100 (approximately USD 142) will be applied for the Registrar’s review of responses to office actions or objections related to trademark applications.
Fee for File Preservation:
A fee of JD 10 (approximately USD 14) per month will be charged for any request to suspend procedures for intellectual property matters.
