    UAE Launches InstaBlock Center to Strengthen Digital Intellectual Property Protection

    Instablock is an initiative to combat digital content infringement using advanced technologies like AI. It is a ‘Live Ban’ feature which allows users to flag copyright infringements in real-time during live online broadcasts, ensuring the protection of original creators’ intellectual property rights. The center is located in Dubai Media city and it is a collaboration between the Ministry of Economy and with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) . It plays a key role in strengthening the UAE’s intellectual property protection by working with media institutions and digital platforms to block unauthorized content in real time.

    The InstaBlock Center significantly enhances enforcement efforts, with over 4,500 infringing websites blocked in 2024, up from 1,123 in 2023. As part of a larger initiative comprising over 30 IP-focused programs, the center supports a secure digital environment and fosters a sustainable creative economy in the UAE.
