Qatar Deepens Global Trade and Investment Engagements at Davos 2026
H.E. Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, Qatar’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, concluded a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (Davos 2026).
The engagements reflect Qatar’s ongoing efforts to accelerate economic diversification and deepen international cooperation across trade, investment, and industry, in line with the Third National Development Strategy. Discussions also addressed opportunities for strategic partnerships and value-added investment, with particular attention to priority growth areas such as the digital economy and industrial development.
These meetings underscore Qatar’s continued drive to build high-quality economic partnerships, attract sustainable investment, and strengthen the contribution of non-oil sectors to the national economy.
From an IP perspective, investment-led collaborations particularly in technology, AI, and advanced industrial manufacturing rely on clear frameworks to protect and commercialize intangible assets, including brands, software, data, and know-how. As partnerships move from dialogue to implementation, robust IP protection and practical licensing structures help support investor confidence, facilitate knowledge transfer, and enable sustainable value creation within the Qatari market, under the oversight of the competent authorities responsible for IP rights protection and enforcement.
