What is the Patent Prosecution Highway?
The Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) is a collaborative initiative between the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property and various International Intellectual Property Offices. Under this program, applicants have the privilege to expedite the examination process of their patent applications in one country based on positive examination results from another country, and vice versa.
Program Objectives:
- Enhance patent quality by sharing best practices between the participating countries.
- Accelerate the processing of patent applications in both countries through requests made under the PPH agreement.
- Streamline procedures, ultimately increasing the efficiency of examination processes.
- Foster investment and partnerships between the two nations.
