Jordan – Updates on Domain Name Regulations and Fees
The National Information Center has revised government fees for domain name procedures in Jordan. These changes were officially published in the Official Gazette on June 30, 2024.
Key Updates
Article 8
The unit may suspend, stop, or cancel the domain name service in the following cases:
- If the renewal fee is not paid within 30 days of the subscription expiration date.
Article 9
The registrant may request reactivation of the domain name within 60 days of service suspension by paying the required fees. Reactivation will occur within two business days of payment.
New Domain Extensions
The National Information Center has activated the following domain extensions:
- .fm.jo
- .tv.jo
- .agri.jo
- .eng.jo
- .ai.jo
Distinctive Domains
New “distinctive domains” (e.g., .a.jo, .1.jo, .a1.jo) have also been created. These domains will not be published on the website until pricing approval is obtained from the Ministry of Communications.
