Qatar Trademark Office Begins Transition to Digital Services
In a significant step towards modernizing its intellectual property infrastructure, the Qatar Trademark Office has officially embarked on a digital transformation initiative starting (August 2025).
This move is part of the country’s broader e-government strategy, aiming to streamline administrative procedures and improve access to official trademark services for both local and international rights holders.
Key Developments:
- (The Trademark Official Gazette is currently published in dual formats—electronic and hard copy).
- (The Trademark Office (TMO) will be issuing electronic trademark registration and renewal certificates than mailing paper certificates.).
This hybrid approach reflects a transitional phase, where the Office is testing the implementation of its digital systems to ensure a smooth and reliable process. The dual issuance method (electronic and physical) will continue until the digital system is fully adopted across all services.
