
UAE Launches First Digital “Brand Marketplace”
On Wednesday, 26 November 2025, the Ministry of Economy and Tourism announced the launch of the “Brand Marketplace,” the first digital platform in the UAE and the region dedicated to buying and trading trademarks. Developed through the UAE Government Leadership Program, the platform represents a new national initiative that enhances the country’s innovation and competitiveness in the field of intellectual property and supports the growth of the trademark sector. It aims to drive a qualitative transformation in the trademark industry, fostering greater growth and prosperity while strengthening the UAE’s appeal to global companies and international brands.
During a press conference in Abu Dhabi, Minister Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri highlighted that the platform provides trademark owners with a secure and transparent digital space to buy, sell, and trade their brands, while offering a direct channel to connect with investors and entrepreneurs. He also noted that the Ministry expects a 20% increase in the number of trademarks registered in the UAE within one year of the platform’s launch, emphasizing that the initiative will deliver significant support to small and medium-sized enterprises as well as family businesses. Additionally, he clarified that trading on the platform will be limited to national and international trademarks registered in the UAE.
The platform’s key objectives include:
- Enhancing the UAE’s attractiveness to global companies and brands by 20%.
- Developing and strengthening the competitiveness of the trademark industry.
- Increasing investment in intangible assets as part of the new economy framework.
