    UAE – Ministry of Economy Grants First Music Rights License to Emirates Music Rights Association

    The UAE Ministry of Economy has granted a license to the newly formed Emirates Music Rights Association (EMRA) for collective management of music rights. The mission of EMRA is to regulate the collection and distribution of royalties for the use of musical rights, ensure that broadcasting platforms are aligned with the intellectual property laws in the music sector within the country.

    EMRA is established by virtue of Federal Decree-Law No. 38 of 2021 and aims to create a transparent and sustainable music industry, support artists’ revenues, and attract cultural investment.
