UAE – Cabinet Approves Updated Trademark Fees and Services Framework
On October 8, 2025, the UAE Cabinet issued Resolution No. (102) of 2025, updating trademark fees and services under the Ministry of Economy and Tourism. Aimed at supporting businesses and improving accessibility, the new framework will take effect on November 15, 2025.
Key Highlights of the Resolution Include:
- A 50% fee reduction for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) registered under the UAE SME’s National Program.
- Exemptions for people of determination, ensuring more inclusive access to trademark services.
- Introduction of new service fees, including fees for appeals against trademark rejection decisions.
- Revision of the fee structure for appeals against opposition decisions, with fees now dependent on whether the filing party is the opponent or the plaintiff.
- Implementation of express examination fees for expedited processing of trademark applications.
- Introduction of fees for the conversion of national trademark applications to international applications, requiring applicants to pay additional fees to the UAE Trademark Office for filing through WIPO.
