Yemen (Aden and Sana’a): Updated POA Attestation Requirements for Intellectual Property Matters

An important update has been introduced regarding the attestation and acceptance of Powers of Attorney (POAs) for intellectual property matters in Yemen.

Please be advised that the Trademark Office in Aden no longer recognizes Powers of Attorney attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in Sana’a. Similarly, Powers of Attorney attested by the MoFA in Aden are not accepted by the relevant authorities in Sanaa.

Accordingly, POAs must be attested by both Ministries of Foreign Affairs for matters covering both regions, or by the respective Ministry for matters handled exclusively in either region.
